尹周安老师赴美国西北健康大学进修
在湖南省教育厅留学生中医学英语授课项目的资助下,本人于2015年2月初前往美国西北健康大学进行为期六个月的培训学习,至今已经有4月余,我将从以下几个方面将本人近4个月的学习交流心得体会总结如下:
1 熟悉阶段(2月15-3月初)
(1)生活环境--明州及明尼阿波利斯简介
明尼苏达州 (Minnesota -- MN,简称明州 ) ,1858年5月11日加入联邦,成为美国第32州,是美国内地7州之一。北界加拿大,东临苏必利尔湖,隔密西西比河与威斯康星州相望,南接艾奥瓦州,西邻南、北达科他州。

明州是全美湖泊最多的州,有大小湖泊15000多个,乃“万湖之州”,自然风光秀丽。明尼苏达州气候极端。冬季漫长寒冷,夏季短暂,冬季雪景非常迷人。
明州多是欧洲德国人的后裔。他们喜欢垂钓,皮划艇,棒球,橄榄球。篮球队有NBA明尼苏达森林狼队 (Minnesota Timberwolves)、WNBA明尼苏达山猫队 (Minnesota Lynx)。但是明州百姓对棒球的欢迎程度远高于篮球。
明州经济在全美排在中上等,个人收入比全国平均水平要高出10%左右。主要是农业畜牧业加工为主。明州人非常热情,素质非常高。社会治安较好。
明州非常重视文教卫生事业,其中明尼苏达大学,全美的巨型学府之一。设在罗切斯特的梅奥诊所成立于1889年,现已发展为世界著名的大医院和医学研究机构,每年接纳国内外患者达25万人次。
明尼阿波利斯是美国明尼苏达州最大城市,位于该州东南部,跨密西西比河两岸。面积151.3平方公里,都市区人口350万左右 (2013年)。东与首府圣保罗组成著名双子城。购物中心有美国最大购物中心--美国购物中心(Mall of America)和Outlet(奥特莱斯)。市区建筑两边商场的高架风雨廊道为城市独特的建筑形式。

§ Founded in 1941 as Northwestern College of Chiropractic
§ In 1986, created chiropractic radiology consulting service
§ In mid 1980’s, developed first community-based internship program in all of chiropractic education
§ In 1999, became of the one of the nation’s first natural healthcare universities with the addition of the Acupuncture, Oriental Medicine and Massage Therapy programs to the existing College of Chiropractic
§ In 2000, secured first federal grants for research in low back and neck pain

2 学习交流阶段(3月初-至今)
学习方面:
(1)随堂听课:这是主要的学习中医专业外语的主要方式,我主修了《方剂学》《针灸学》《心肺医学》及《中医基础理论》等课程,全程随堂听课,参与各种小测试,互动教学等,认真做好听课笔记,完成老师布置的课后作业。

(2)语言交换
这是训练口语的方式,先后与JIM,Daive,Mai等进行语言交换学习,主要是训练口语,每次2个小时,一周3次,每次会有一个小主题。围绕一个小主题进行语言口语交流,纠正发音。
(3)参加社团及学术会议
积极参加西北健康科学大学的社团活动,学术会议,了解这边学校教学情况,感受学术氛围,了解美国教育及中医在美国的发展情况。
(4)进行专业学术交流
在熟悉基本生活语言对话的基础上,逐步开展专业学术交流,一个是与授课的相关老师进行教学体会,专业话题,临床实践等方面的探讨,同时利用中文社团,组织英语讲座,得到了学校师生的一致好评,为正面宣传中医,传播中医文化尽了自己绵薄之力。
(4)进行专业学术交流
在熟悉基本生活语言对话的基础上,逐步开展专业学术交流,一个是与授课的相关老师进行教学体会,专业话题,临床实践等方面的探讨,同时利用中文社团,组织英语讲座,得到了学校师生的一致好评,为正面宣传中医,传播中医文化尽了自己绵薄之力。

这次专业英语讲座收到了西北健康科学大学师生一致好评!
3 收获及体会
语言方面-由于本人英语基础较差,尤其是口语方面,毕业后多年未曾使用英语,单词遗忘较多,所以通过下载运用手机软件“英语流利说”“有道口语大师”“金山词霸”复单词量逐步恢复。其次通过与学生互动交流,广播,电视新闻及美剧等,尽快熟悉美语口音及部分俚语,为进一步的专业交流逐步扫清了障碍。
专业方面:通过跟班随堂听课,与专业教师及学生进行交流,逐步熟悉中医专业课英语教学,了中医解美国学生对中医学习的兴趣及遇到的困难,同时也逐步认识到中西文化的差异,通过对比逐步明晰了美国中医教育与中国中医教育的优劣及差距,取长补短,洋为中用,在以后的教学当中可以广泛的吸取美国教育的一些先进理念,和成熟的教学方法,准备将整理成文发公开发表。
其他方面:通过实地考察,交流,以及生活感悟,还有以下两个收获:较为全面的了解了美国的历史,文化,生活习惯,宗教信仰及国民素质等,对以后进一步文化交流打下基础,为以后返校后进行留学生教学提供了语言、文化交流基础!
